2009 St. Johns County Festival of Trees at World Golf Village

For the first time ever, GREAT Rescue participated in the 2009 St. Johns County Festival of Trees at World Golf Village. This fifth-annual holiday event showcased decorated trees and wreaths throughout the St. Johns County Convention Center, adjacent to the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village. All proceeds from public monetary votes as well as a silent auction benefited two local charities – the United Way of St. Johns County and The St. Augustine Record’s Empty Stocking Fund.

GREAT volunteers spent countless creative hours adorning their holiday tree with true Golden holiday spirit! From dog houses to adorable photos, Milk Bones to tennis balls, poop bags to glittery paws prints, the GREAT Rescue tree was a heartfelt tribute of  love and dedication to the many displaced Golden Retrievers we've rescued in Northeast Florida in 2009.

Talk about having a GREAT time! Not only was our decorated tree purchased at the Silent Auction by a Golden lover, GREAT Rescue was the proud winner of the 2009 St. Johns County Festival of Trees "Spirit of the First Coast" category!
